Inflation Saints where early 20th century German preachers, fools, prophets and initiates with alternative ideas concerning economy, health and politics. For L&F, Ruchama Noorda linked inflation saints to Monte Verita, Krishnamurti, nudists, campers, Rudolf Steiner, Rote Armee Fraction and Greet Hofmans, accompanied by an astonishing amount of images.

De Lakenhal asked Ruchama Noorda to create a new installation in the Scheltema galleries. The installation Static Progress Monument is a contemporary interpretation of the 20th-century ‘total work of art’. It consists of items from the museum’s and the artist’s private collection, ceramics, pieces of furniture, drawings, typography and a film. The items are the backdrop for Noorda’s new work, in which she expresses her belief in the yearning for an all-encompassing ideology and avant-garde.The film is based on a poem by Noorda and revives obscure early 20th-century dance films, in images. The film is produced jointly with filmmaker/artist Brian McKenna, eurythmist Kaya Kitani and Natalia Domínguez Rangel, who composed the music.
